The story thus far

I am writing this blog since i am at a point of desperation with regard to my weight.

I am not obese in real terms (my BMI is 28.7), but i am overweight nonetheless.

The problem that i have been facing for a long time now is that of constant fatigue and inability to lose weight.

I am also suffering from the problem of groin itch for nearly 2 years. I initially tended to ignore this since i thought it was caused because of sweat. However, after a bit of research i learnt that this was most possibly a case of Yeast infection caused by many years of excessive sugar intake.

Persistent yeast infection is caused by an upset in the balance of the stomach chemistry (or flora as they refer to it sometimes). This happens due to excessive intake of breads, sugar, antibiotics etc.

The problem got complicated a few weeks ago when i also started suffering from painful hemorrhoids.

That's when i realised what a vicious cycle i was trapped in.

"I was eating excess sugar which was lowering my immunity, thus making me sick all the time and hence leading me to take antibiotics which just kept feeding the yeast infection making me sick and tired all over again."

For someone like me who is already at a high risk of Type 2 Diabetes (my grandmom and dad both have it), i realise it is now imperative to cut down on sugar or i am going to be doomed to a life of misery.

So, with this in mind, i start my journey to a healthier me. I am cutting down on all sugar intake (Except the bare minimum needed at the start of the day with my coffee) for a period of 4 months till December 31st.

My current weight is 80.5.

I hope to reach 72 or 73 by the time this year ends.

Will keep updating this blog on a weekly basis.

Cheers,
